Yes I do believe the recent world-wide trend towards ‘facebook’ and other internet social media websites are nothing less than a homogenization of people in general, and youths in particular.
This attempted neutering of people according to certain parameters and/or statistical characteristics is nothing less than an unprecedented global commercial marketing program. Everywhere on the internet it is now requested to ‘like us’!?
How gross is that? If you genuinely ‘like’ a person, or a business, it should be based on extensive personal contact, trust, and in the case of business, fair dealings. If that is lacking, this endorsement is superficial and meaningless.
Why should we have to join Facebook in order to endorse someone or something? In my view this is yet another conspiracy to undermine genuine human relations on a very materialistic low level.

Facebook is used superficially by almost everyone. Many people don’t even know the people in their friend’s list and they hit ‘like’ so much that the value of the button is lost.
Facebook was a good idea, but it’s been turned into everyone’s personal journals. It’s a place where young girls try to be women by flashing skin and where people can pretend to be something they are not.
It’s fake on every level.
